On destiny…

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

-Anaïs Nin

I came across this quote many, many, years ago. It resonated with me, became my artistic mantra….everything of consequence, the parts of us that make us unique creators in the world, is in a battle to remain the same, to stay unspoken, or to conform but, you are born to YOUR purpose, sooner or later  you must risk blooming; the alternative is unthinkable.

New Thought

We step into our power
taking no short cuts
in the leisure of denial

We step into our power
In halting starts or forcefully thrust
over stumbling blocks
of conformity…

We step into our power
armoured only in
the threads of our Light
-bloody and scarred
battle worn
of rejection
but, resolute
-We are unique like that
Perfectly set in defiance
Crafted against sameness

(First) Artistic creation
Is always (pure of)
Sin

We step into our power
often as crippled lambs to slaughter
spilling our sacrifices
over thrice hardened stones and canvas frames

We step into our power
alive
Breathing life into dead dreams
of impossibility
merely by our existence

We step into Our Power

Because WE are the powerful
and we must
fulfill our creation.
