Jewel

Seeing you
For the first time
Unfiltered,
Unaltered,
Raw,
Unaware of your power
To inspire
Love,
that moves mountains,
Change,
that alters the course
of rivers, deeply scored into rigid earth,
Reignite a
heart,
Staggered by daggers
and swords
To beat a new message forth…
Seeing you for the first time
Is a moment of recognition,
The fervant phasing thru body of
Lifetimes
Into a solitary infusion point of
Rebirth
I have loved you before,
Now,
Forever.
Without a word spoken…
I am seeing the necessity of
This calamitous condition of unearthing
Self worth,
Raising eyes,
And expectation
That I might gaze beyond
The minute world,
Look up
And discover you
My universe…

Mirage?

I have been trying to hold
Water
In my left hand,
Bear this life giving essence
Through
Our desert.
-Reach you
With the raindrops I have found pooled
Beneath a rock.
Somewhere, nothing so precious should be left worth saving,
 -in barren land
But, from the moment I saw you
there
praying,
in the sand
Crying out for the storm
to bless you,
I was moved to Purpose
Pressed to gather my weariness
About me,
Craft,
a divining rod with the breastbone of my chest…
I was withering here with Wait
My own thirst
Buried low,
Beneath a dune, of long ago dried promises-harsher than the endless sand,
My singular gift left     useless
That is
Until
God said,
Look,

Fire
